We've moved!

About a month ago, we moved into our new house. It has been a lot of work and we've had a lot of help from both sets of parents to fix it up. Finally we are starting to feel settled. There are a couple pictures of the outside above. We have enjoyed the mild fall weather here. For the last couple weeks, most days have been in the 70's. Last night we went to the Toyland Festival in Bentonville. The kids could try out all kinds of toys that Wal-Mart is going to sell this coming Christmas season. Elise wasn't at all afraid of Santa and was excited to sit on his lap. Cade loved the lego village.

Hello All,

Sue was gracious to allow me time to post on the blog so I thought I would take the opportunity. We have now been in AR for a little over a week and I would say it feels more and more comfortable with each passing day. We are finding our way around much better and the kids are doing GREAT considering all the changes they had to endure this past week. We have already started looking at a few houses and have not really found anything real appealing in our price range. It appears the search could be more involved than we thought initially, but in God's time, we believe the right house will be presented to us. We have made a BIG purchase however, a nice shiny new rubber raft. It was tough for us to be staying on this lake without having the ability to get out and navigate Lake Windsor, so we have now solved the problem with a nice $30 raft. We have posted some pictures of the maiden voyage as well as pictures of the house for you all to see. Hope you enjoy them and we will continue to stay in touch.

We've arrived in Arkansas!

We arrived in Arkansas on Friday and had a really good trip here. The kids did great in the car thanks to separate DVD players for each of them! Our rental house is nice. It is on a lake in Bella Vista - probably 1/2 hour drive for Brian to work in Bentonville. Bella Vista seems to be more of a retirement and vacation community. We will probably end up buying a house closer to work for Brian. The kids seem to be adjusting well. Today was the first day that Cade mentioned going back to Michigan. He said "I want to go to Michigan to see Grandpa and Grandma and my cousins." But they have had a lot of fun. We have going to several parks, a pool with a waterslide, a minor league baseball game, a splash park, and they have gone swimming in a few differant lakes and streams. Things are going well and we hope that continues!

Moving to Arkansas

Hello! I am creating a blog to stay in touch and keep friends and family informed about our life in Arkansas. Brian has accepted a job at Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. When we first heard of the opportunity, I had to go to a map to remind myself of where Arkansas was! Although it is pretty far south, it is still considered the midwest. This is really going to be an adventure for our family. We do not even know one person who lives within hours of where we will be. We are looking forward to the warmer winters where the high in January is 45 degrees. That will be a big change from Michigan winters! We will be moving sometime within the next month. The date is not set yet. The kids are at a great age to move so we are very happy that it will not be a big transition for them. We will welcome any and all visitors who are interested in seeing what life is like in Arkansas!
